Assistant Coach for 14 years, Mike Henderson extends his passion and expertise to the ranks
of junior tennis. Henderson will direct the daily clinics helping each
individual develop their tennis skills to the fullest potential.. A strong believer in
building strong tennis and fitness foundations in athletes, Henderson
emphasizes stroke proper technique and footwork. Among his many tennis
credits, coach/Henderson, has worked as the top conditioning coach at the Nick
Bolleittieri Academy, working with top pros including Jimmy Arias, Aaron
Krickstein, Jim Courier and others. In 1990, he coached Jessica Memmons
while she was on the WTA. He also
coached Martin Blackman, who earned a spot in the 1993 French Open main draw.
Henderson also worked as the head tennis pro at Tampa’s Development Program at
HCC, successfully overseeing the top 70 juniors in the city. Henderson, a
native of Ringgold, Ga., graduated from Carson-Newman College in 1979, where he
was a Little All-America in basketball. This year, Henderson enters his 11th
season as the ETC Director of Junior Programs and is one of the best coaches in Tampabay as well as the state of Florida.
